Dashboard builder

Create dashboards, add widgets, configure layout, and control mobile visibility.

Who can use the builder

Users with dashboard edit permissions (typically admin personas such as Energy Consultant or System Administrator) can open Dashboard builder from the project menu.

Viewers and many operational personas can view dashboards but cannot edit layout. Exact capabilities come from Account settings → Access & Personas.

Create a dashboard

In the builder, choose Add to create a new dashboard. You can start blank, use a starter layout, or generate from a meter tree.

When generating from a meter tree, Amplifi creates widgets for meter nodes. You can rename the dashboard and switch historical or realtime mode afterward.

  1. Open Dashboard builder from the project menu.
  2. Click Add → Create new dashboard.
  3. Choose Blank, a starter, or From metertree.
  4. Set historical or realtime mode and save.

Add and arrange widgets

Use the widget palette to add totals, gauges, comparisons, charts, KPIs, leaderboards, pie charts, sparklines, projections, solar forecast, GFA, image, and text widgets.

Drag widgets to reorder them. Use the layout control to set grid columns. Set each widget height to small, medium, or tall.

Projections, solar forecast, and GFA

These widgets are available on historical dashboards and help teams plan ahead — not only review past totals.

Projections forecast kWh and cost from monthly history. Choose a 1-, 3-, or 6-month horizon and median or average baseline. Optionally use net site use (load minus solar) when generation offsets consumption.

Solar forecast shows weather-adjusted expected generation for the next 24, 48, or 72 hours. Select generation meters and optional weather metrics.

GFA (gross floor area) reports floor area and energy intensity (kWh/m²). Configure Total Floor Area (m²) in Project settings → Rates & Timezone first.

  • Projections, solar forecast, and GFA require a historical dashboard (not realtime).
  • Overview can also surface projections and GFA when enabled in Project settings → Dashboards.

Widget options

Each widget supports theme colours, compare / combine modes, period comparisons, header options (grand total, device count, breakdown, export CSV), and height presets.

Realtime dashboards poll live data; historical widgets follow the viewer’s selected date range.

Show on mobile

Enable Show on mobile in the builder to surface a dashboard in the Amplifi Android app.

Per widget, you can Hide on mobile to omit heavy or admin-only widgets. Mobile Home / Overview remains available separately from curated dashboards.

  • Curate one or two mobile-friendly dashboards per project rather than exposing every dashboard.
